Marriage-Couples Counseling on the shoreline in Madison,Ct 06443
Couples Counseling- A  relationship starts with excitement, support, and a commitment to the future.
It can be during this time that differences in opinions and values can also surface.  Many couples hold back
their feelings because they fear the disagreements will escalate.  All of those positive thoughts and feelings
they once experienced are replaced with insecurity and doubt in the relationship. There are many benefits
to meeting with the therapists at Coastal Counseling Associates. The approach is solution focused and the
environment is comfortable and relaxed.  It is important that both partners commit to attending the
sessions so that issues can be addressed cooperatively.
Unfortunately, avoiding conflicts does not make them go away. Making an effort to
problem solve and discuss issues with a counselor can help you learn to...
Improve communication skills
Share cooperatively
Relationship empowerment
Transform patterns
Learn to be supportive
Learn to validate your partner
Problem solve
Manage anger
Marriage Counseling- In marriage counseling, the professionals at Coastal Counseling Associates
prefer to meet with partners together. Partners who seek this type of service demonstrate a commitment
to work on the relationship and marriage together.  There are occasions when only one partner is willing
to seek counseling and support.  In these cases, the therapist is trained to focus on that individual in
relation to the marriage and will refer the couple to another therapist when both partners are ready to
share together. In marriage counseling, the therapists are non-biased and do not take sides on issues or
concerns.  The goal is to understand both partners concerns and work together toward a resolution.

"Jon and I began our relationship two years ago.  We
thought this time of contentment would last forever.  We
wanted a future together.  As time went on, we began to
experience disagreements, and differences of opinions.  We
needed help.  Counselors at Coastal Counseling Associates
were able to help us reconnect." Emily
