of Madison, Clinton, Old Saybrook, Essex, Guilford, Branford, Killingworth and throughout Connecticut
At Coastal Counseling Associates our professionals guide the process in a
comfortable and private environment. There are many situations where
mediation skills can be used such as business issues, planning for elders,
parent-child mediations, landlord/tenant, separation, divorce, and
interpersonal issues. Parties are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the
mediation process before beginning. Listed below are some benefits to
choosing this alternative form of dispute resolution.
Mediation Services at Coastal Counseling Associates allow parties to control
the process of dispute resolution. Clients make the decisions about what
issues they are trying to resolve. The mediator does not impose a resolution,
however, facilitates the negotiations of the parties toward a mutual and
personalized resolution. Mediation is a voluntary process of alternative dispute
resolution. Parties may withdraw from the process at anytime.
Mediators encourage open communication between both parties while
remaining non-biased.
When you go to court for litigation outcomes can be unpredictable and
decisions about your future may be decided by the court. Mediation is done in
a private office setting- not the courtroom. This may allow for a respectful,
cooperative and personalized resolution.
Right for you. Right for now.

" When it came to our divorce we were able to agree on most
issues except visitation schedules. Mediation helped us resolve
this issue in a peaceful and productive way." John
